The Department of Tourism (DOT) will embark on its first ever public-private partnership (PPP) project to build the New Nayong Pilipino.
It will be a a build-transfer-operate-and maintain project with a 23-year concession.
New Nayong Pilipino, which is estimated to cost P1.5 billion to build, will be the country’s first ever Filipino theme park.
The project will span 9.5 hectares at western side of Roxas Boulevard and south of SM Mall of Asia.
Building the country’s first ever Filipino theme park poses one challenge to the architects and designers — how to design a Nayong Pilipino for the 21st century.
