Erring policemen who were ordered to clean Pasig River are not absolved from any administrative cases they are facing the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) cleared.
“Hindi ibig sabihin na pinaglinis na ang mga itong ng Ilog Pasig ay wala na silang criminal and administrative charges,” NCRPO director Chief Superintendent Oscar Albayalde said.
Cleaning the Pasig River of water hyacinths is just part of the punishment the 387 policemen face.
“Ito yung sinasabi natin na siguro it’s just part of the punishment, pero just the same, you have to face yung charges sa’yo, whether criminal or administrative,” he said.
President Rodrigo Duterte also gave the almost policemen a tongue-lashing after they were presented to him this afternoon (Tuesday).
Duterte also told the policemen to choose if they want to resign and reform or they will be sent to Basilan.
